Unit 39 - Research

https://www.redvelvetart.com/

I really like this design! I love the bright colours used as well as the small doodle like drawings for the buttons - I may use something like this in my own design. I also like the text which looks like it could be her actual writing I also like this idea perhaps I could use this in my design also.

I also like the extra details over the images when hovered over them like the small lines and squiggles, it makes exploring the website much more interesting!

However one fault for this website is that the images took a while to load but the images that loaded up were bright and attractive so it wasn't uninteresting so it improved it by it being bright and interesting to look at.

I love the texture used, it looks like an old envelope or cardboard of some kind as well as the celotape which I think really brings the design together.
There isn't a great deal of interactivity but everything that needs to be seen is on the first page. All the work is to be seen and can be enlarged once pressed.

However I do like this design I think it may be too simple for what I would like to do for my website, I would prefer there to be alot more interactivity and feel this is too simple.

The design reminds me alot of the apple/ipod display with the buttons to further pages are lit in bright colours with the simple image; however I think the buttons for portfolio and services buttons are not very clear unlike the others, but are still thought through because when the mouse is over the button it displays it underneath. Additionally the services button doesn't mix in with the background unlike the others as it has a black background when over a light spot.

However I do like the design aspect of this website I like the background and the style of buttons used it is very functional there isn't alot of interactivty unlike some of the websites I've researched which are more like games but this website is more practical and showing the work of the person.

Additionally the background and the white text doesnt show through well together I would have it with a slightly transparent block colour behind the text similar to the images.

Web Design - Research

I really like the design on this the messy ripped out effect which looks as if has been photoshoped to create this effect; there are paint splats and rubbed our graffiti which gives the look of a more messy which in my opinion gives me the impression of the designer's work to be more street image with lots of graffiti and more rough and ready designs. I like how you have to roll over the buttons otherwise the next pages wouldn't be seen I also like the the graffiti making it look like a messy scribbled unlooked after design.

Web Design - Research

I really like this website the has lots of interactivity as such as the volume button and the animation through out the website.
I love how you have to move through out the website where you have to interact pressing buttons as well as finding the different tools so you can progress

Unit 39: Website Design - Slice tool

Using the slice tool selecting the overlapping slices then combining them into the amount/layout that was needed. Then using save for web and save it as an image and html.

Unit 39: Website design - Research

This is a screenshot from the website: http://www.rolando.com.br/site
The website design is based around a house with a graveyard at
the side with the main scrolling option is to use the arrow keys to use to move across the extended screen.
The design created is done in a creepy way but the cartoony style soften
s the effect and looks more childish with the big eyes on the c
haracters. which is shown with the cherub with a more disturbing type of drawing as the head with a gas mask, along with the little elements which you discover as you interact and move along in the website.

The screen with hearts hanging down with a cherub on the cloud are a contradiction to the scene with the house and graveyard but one the heart is pressed the heart becomes bigger but the picture of the designer has devil horns which is somewhat ironic to the appearance of the heavenly like imagery.

I really like the way you have to interact by clicking on the different objects such as in this scene where you have to pull the lever that makes the portfolio of work 'erupt' out of the volcano.
